Local shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants are just a stroll from the cottage in the market town of Brampton, check out Discover Brampton wesbite. a great location for walkers and explorers, including Hadrian's Cycle way on your doorstep, check out Northumbria Tourist Information. Brampton and Eden Golf clubs, as well as, New Mills Trout Farm and Walby Farm Park all within easy reach as is peaceful, beautiful Talkin Tarn Country Park with its level walk around the tarn, tearoom & water activities. On the edge of Brampton you will find historical and magnificent Lanercost Priory (English Heritage) with its walk to Birdoswald Roman Fort, your gateway to Hadrian’s Wall. Tindale Tarn and the Geltsdale RSPB bird reserve are just over 3 miles away with lovely walks, country pub and superb village shope and cafe.
The Pennine Way, is just 8 miles at Greenhead with its stunning walks and scenery. Historical and vibrant City of Carlisle, 10 miles, history, castle, museum; shopping; pubs; restaurants and so much more. Then don't forget Hadrian's Wall including Vindolanda Roman museum and spectacular Holstead’s Roman Fort, built in AD 124.
Also within easy reach travel to the spectacular walks up Aira Force, Lake Ullswater and the outstandingly beautiful Lake District National Park. There are also beaches within about an hours drive, such as the amazing Dumfries and Galloway Coast and beautiful Northumbria coast. Why not also visit the fantastic City of Newcastle with its metro centre, shops, music, sporting venues and so much more.
