About Us:

We are Alan and Shirley Jones, we own, manage, clean and maintain Wall & Lakes Holiday Cottage and, since starting in 2022, we have gained a sound reputation for providing a comfortable, clean, value for money, holiday cottage with excellent reviews and returning guests.  We found this lovely bungalow, in Brampton, in 2012 and felt it was just a perfect home in a great location.  Over the years since we modernised it ourselves with care.  We have always lived in this local area, brought up our children here, and continue to live nearby, so we are on hand to welcome guests and help with any questions they may have.

About The Cottage:

Nearby pubs; cafe's; shops; golf courses; Talkin Tarn/water activities; loads of amazing walks and historical sites.

In a peaceful, rural location, situated on a country lane, away from busy roads, and just a short walk into the friendly market town of Brampton with pubs, cafe's and shops. It’s the perfect location for exploring Hadrian’s Wall, Talkin Tarn, Gelt woods, The Lake District and so much more. 

Outside:-

Driveway, with parking for 2 vehicles.  Small storage shed, perfect for cycles. 

Large front and back well-kept lawns, hedges and sunny patio, great for outdoor dining.

Entrance steps with sturdy handrails to both the front and side porch doors. 

Sorry, no EV charging at the cottage, although available nearby in Brampton.

Living Room:-

Light, comfortable and spacious with extra-large window and relaxing countryside views.

Two cosy leather sofa’s;

Cosy, multifuel stove, fire guard with some fuel provided. However, its use is very much optional as guests generally find the cottage is warm and cosy with the gas central heating.

Dinning area with solid wood table and 4 chairs.

Bedrooms (sleeps up to 4)

Two bedrooms, each with a king-sized beds offering a cosy, restful night’s sleep.  The front bedroom king size bed also splits into two (2ft 6") small singles, if requested in advance. 

High quality. cosy bedding and towels are always provided for extra comfort.

Both rooms have double wardrobes, drawers, lamps and a mirror.

The larger back bedroom also has a tub chair and hair dryer.

Both rooms have lovely, peaceful countryside views.

Kitchen:-

Lovely and bright with two windows looking out across the large front lawn and patio.

Well equipped:  Iron/ironing board; microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, under the counter fridge with small freezer, slow cooker, kettle, cafetiere, toaster, quality pans and casserole dishes, baking tray and roasting tins, dinner plates, bowls & cutlery. Also washing basket and pegs.   

A small kitchen table provides the perfect place for those snacks and breakfast stops while in the corner of the kitchen you will find a quaint serves hatch that opens into the dining area.  Perfect for passing through those dinner plates to enjoy an evening meal with family and friends in the spacious dining area with sold wood table and chairs.

Starter pack of tea and/or coffee and a welcome basket provided as standard.

Bathroom:-

Electric shower above a P shaped bath; non-slip bathmat provided.

Sparkling clean, shiny tiles.

WC and hand basin

Towel radiator and hand towel.

Starter pack of toilet rolls and soap.

Hallway: 

Level access into the kitchen, living room, bathroom and both bedrooms. 

Oak doors and side table which hosts the internet hub and Wi-Fi (generally sufficient for entertainment and home working)

Emergency light socket in the hallway and others throughout the property.  

Storage cupboard with hoover, iron, books and board games.

Sunny, Side Porch and entrance: 

One step down from the kitchen you can move into the porch with a small, cosy two-seater sofa.  The perfect peaceful area to savour your morning coffee or relax after a busy day out and about with its open views across the garden and countryside fields behind. From here you can step outside and up onto the patio.

We always try to welcome our guests personally and (a slightly earlier check in may be possible, if requested, although, cannot be guaranteed), to show you around and help with any questions you may have and offer some guidance, if requested, on local attractions and provide keys.  We are local owners happy to help.
