Well equiped: Iron/ironing board; microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, cafetiere, toaster, pans, variety of cassarole dishes, baking tray and roasting tins, dinner plates, bowls & cutlery. Also washing basket and pegs. Many essential, starter items, such as bin bags, coffee, sugar, soap, toilet rolls, fuel for the stove and more.
Family Friendly: The cottage can be set up as one kingsized bed and two small singles, if requested in advance. Provided as standard: fireguard; optional bedroom night lights; selection of board games and books, storage shed for bikes or any outside toys you bring, non-slip bath mat; large front and back lawns and sunny patio. Positioned on a quiet country lane away from busy roads; many nearby family attractions, such as Talkin Tarn & Walby Farm Park (see our blog for many more ideas). We are also happy to provide, if notified on booking, a stand alone high chair, baby bath and steriliser (please bring your own babies travel cot).
Entrance and Hallway: From the driveway, walk up the 7 entrance steps with sturdy handrails and through the front door. Once in the hall there is level access into the kitchen, living room, bathroom and both bedrooms. The Hallway is roomy with newly fitted oak doors and a side table which hosts the internet hub and Wi-Fi. There is also an emergency light socket in the hallway and others throughout the property. As a special point of interest, there are some photos of country shows in the hall, with breath-taking scenery and the traditional sport of Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling in the foreground (please see the “in the area” section or ask us if you want to find out more about this fascinating sport and a unique way to explore areas of outstanding natural beauty).
Two Bedrooms, sleep 4 people, 2 king sized beds OR 1 king sized and 2 small singles.
In both bedrooms the highest quality, luxury bed linen and towels are provided, sparkling clean, soft and welcoming. Embracing you into a restful night’s sleep. The spacious light back bedroom includes a king-sized bed. The perfect place to lie back, relax and enjoy the view out of the window across the private back garden and fields. There is a double wardrobe with drawers as well as a separate set of bedroom drawers with mirror and two bedside tables and lamps, plenty of room for all your personal belongings. There is also a tub chair as well as a hair dryer and heat mat provided. The bright, fresh front bedroom holds a king-sized bed, which can be divided into two small singles, please request in advance if required. In addition, there is a wardrobe, dressing table, large mirror, two bedside tables and lamps. This bedroom looks out across the large front lawn, onto the quiet country lane in front of Aysgarth cottage.
Bathroom:
The bathroom is warm and beautifully tiled with a spacious P bath, electric shower, hand basin and WC. As well as a towel rail and radiator. There is also an electric shower above the bath.
Kitchen, through to dining area:
The well-equipped kitchen is lovely and bright with two windows looking out onto the front garden and side patio areas. Here you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer, oven and cooking hob as well as a small, under the counter, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, slow cooker and all the equipment you would expect in a modern kitchen. A small kitchen table provides the perfect place for those snacks and breakfast stops while in the corner of the kitchen you will find a quaint serves hatch which opens into the dining area. Perfect for passing through those dinner plates to enjoy an evening meal with family and friends. The dining area is bright and spacious with a beautiful, oak dining table and chairs.
Living Room:
Next to the dining area is the light, spacious living room. There are two comfortable sofas and a multi-fuel stove with a good supply of fuel provided. Here sit back and relax while you enjoy the warm stove and beautiful countryside view through the large sunny window. While relaxing take a closure look at the lovely framed photos in the living room, these were taken by a family member especially for you and show the beauty of Talkin Tarn Country Park, a short drive or moderate walk away.
Side Porch:
One step down from the kitchen you can move into the sunny side porch. With a cosy two-seater sofa this is the perfect peaceful area to savour your morning coffee or relax in after a busy day out and about with its open views across the garden and fields behind.
Outside:
From our country lane turn left into the driveway (with steady incline) where there is plenty of parking for two vehicles. The large front lawn wraps around to the back to provide a private grassed area and shed for bike storage. By the side porch there one step up to the sun trapped patio with garden furniture. The perfect area for outdoor dining and relaxing.
