Talkin Tarn offers a stunningly beautiful, walk along the tranquil waterside with ancient woodland and easy footpaths. A great destination for all the family with its amazing views, tearoom, toilet facilities, gift shop, wildlife, playground and adventure activities.  
Just a few minutes by car from Wall and Lakes Holiday Cottage or walk straight from your front door, along The Dandy footpath, across the old railway bridge up to Talkin Tarn – a relatively easy walk that takes about an hour.  Directions can be found within your holiday cottage, together with lots of other local amazing walks.  Check out www.carlisle.gov.uk/talkintarn/ for more details.

Gelt Woods, a not to be missed really delightful walk and RSPB nature reserve.   Entrance to Gelt Woods is an easy walk from your holiday cottage.
